Collier Concepts Relaunches with a Focus on Sustainability while tapping into Millennial & Gen Z Mindset
Founders Cary and Kim Collier welcome daughters Cierra Ayu and Kiara Asia to Wellness Consultancy Firm and Celebrate 30 Years of a Thriving Family Business
Whitefish, MT (August, 2018) – In the $3.7 trillion dollar global wellness economy of today, Cary Collier would be plenty happy if he never heard the word “spa” again. That might come as a surprise to anyone who has experienced one of the spa marvels that he and his partner in life and business, Kim Collier have created over the years. Collier Concepts (formerly Collier & Colliers Spas, founded in 1988) will take a bold step forward in 2018, redefining their business and bringing in fresh ideas from a Millennial and Gen Z who know a thing or two about creating opportunities for living healthy. The Collier daughters, Cierra Ayu and Kiara Asia join their parents in re-visualizing what it means to be a spa and wellness design firm in today’s marketplace. Always with an eye on happenings in the wellness space, but with a desire to reinvent what the world has long called “spa.”
“You really can’t put a label on the possibilities for design when it comes to cultivating health and happiness for the next generations. What we’re aiming to do with the relaunch of Collier Concepts is to focus on sustainable solutions for a healthy future – for both the planet and for people who seek well-being,” says Cary.
Eager to include the young, Millennial and Gen Z seekers, the Collier daughters will bring a unique perspective to consulting services in the family owned business – their experiences traveling alongside their parents to Bali and beyond combined with passions ranging from gemstone healing and botany to mountain climbing and photography – the two have their pulse on the upcoming market – an elusive yet vital component to the future of the wellness industry. In addition to providing ideas and solutions geared toward a younger audience, the duo will also have a hand in digital marketing efforts for the firm.
Cary and Kim started the business is 1988 – with Cary literally conceptualizing and manifesting ideas by drawing them out on vellum paper with marker and pen, which he still does. Kim, a spa educator and holistic health practitioner, studied and documented herbal and traditional methods of natural healing and states “these next chapters of Collier Concepts are very exciting, and keeps us connected in creative ways that make a difference. We laugh a lot and love to bring the fun!”
The couple’s lives have been infused with magical surroundings including much time spent in Bali, where the couple fell in love. One of Cary’s first consulting projects took him to Maui on a seven-day retreat where he and Kim were engaged beneath a waterfall in one of the seven sacred pools in the Hana area. They later married in Hong Kong. Some of their first projects include:
–Javana Spa, a Destination Spa Resort on the island of Java, Indonesia
-Spa at the Four Seasons, Jimbaran Bay, Bali & Sayan, Bali, Indonesia
-Nusa Dua Spa at Nusa Dua Beach Hotel, Bali, Indonesia
Cary will continue his involvement with Blu Spas Inc, while Kim, founder of JAMU – an Indonesian-based product line that has been featured in both VOGUE and O, The Oprah Magazine, will expand her work to include representation, education and events highlighting herbal and CBD body care brands. Cary was named one of the 19 Innovators in the World by Hospitality Design Magazine in 2017 and his work has been featured in the LA Times, Wall Street Journal, Robb Report and Organic Spa Magazine.
Their daughters offer generational insight into Collier Concepts. Eldest daughter, Cierra Ayu, on the cusp of Millennial and Gen Z, brings a global, open minded approach and like a Gen Z is an individualist and in Cierras’ words “possibly too trendy for Montana, but love living in the mountains and travel often to connect with the world, and discover beauty in all forms”. Cierra studied cosmetology at AVEDA Institute, and is licensed in Oregon and Montana: www.cierraayubeauty.com
Kiara Asia is an artist, adventurer and will study anthropology in college this year, with an interest in botany, gemstones, health, fitness, nutrition and self care. Kiara Asia says of growing up in the spa industry, “traveling with my parents to villages in Bali and seeing how wellness is translated into different cultures allowed for a more global perspective for healing. There’s no formula for it – and each person is unique in the way that they need to be cared for.” Kiara Asia is an International Baccalaureate recognized artist featured on www.designs2love.com/KiaraCollier
